Our facilities at Egerton Stud are maintained to support both the physical development and mental wellbeing of the horses in our care. The environment is quiet, organised and steady, allowing horses to relax, build confidence and progress at their own pace. Every element is designed to provide clarity, calmness and continuity for horses at any stage of their journey.

    The 2f trotting ring provides a controlled, consistent space for warming up, settling young horses and developing rhythm without pressure. It allows horses to move forward in a calm, structured environment, supporting balance, early conditioning and steady mental focus.

    7.5f woodchip gallop

    The 7.5f woodchip gallop offers a reliable, all-weather surface ideal for progressive fitness work. Its length supports smooth, uninterrupted exercise, helping horses build cardiovascular strength, stride consistency and confidence in their movement throughout the season.

    The 5f grass gallop provides an opportunity for horses to work on a natural surface, developing balance, stride adaptability and race-day familiarity. Maintained for safe, confident exercise, it’s an essential part of varied conditioning programmes.

    Our two horse walkers support low-impact conditioning, routine stretching and safe activity during rehabilitation or rest periods. They provide controlled movement to promote circulation, flexibility and mental relaxation as part of everyday management.

    The three lunge rings offer safe, purpose-built spaces for groundwork, early education and controlled exercise. Ideal for backing, balance work, behaviour assessment and reintroduction to training, they allow horses to learn and respond without distraction.

    With 69 well-ventilated boxes spread across two quiet, well-managed yards, horses benefit from a calm environment, clear routines and appropriate separation when needed. Box design and placement support daily handling, settling and mental wellbeing.

    Grass turnout provides essential downtime, supporting natural behaviour, digestion and mental restoration. Whether part of a spell, recovery plan or daily routine, turnout helps horses relax, decompress and maintain a healthy balance between work and rest.
